Green Bay Boy & Girl Youth Choirs of St. Norbert College Newsletter
Published April 29th, 2024

-Happy May! Earlier this week we announced to the members/families that we will finish out our remaining rehearsals at Calvary Lutheran Church with some different rehearsal times so the choirs can practice together before the concert.  A flier was sent home with the following information…

REHEARSAL CHANGE ALERT!

For the rest of the season we will be rehearsing at Calvary Lutheran Church in Green Bay. We apologize for the location switch (again!) but with graduation and so many events happening at SNC in May we thought it would be easiest to finish off the rest of the semester at Calvary. We also need to adjust our rehearsals times in May so all of our groups can have time to rehearse together and be ready for the concert! Below are all the updates-please contact Noah if you have any questions. Thanks everyone!

A note from Mr. Berendsen:

I am in a very reflective mood lately. I am finishing my 9th season with the Green Bay Boy and Girl Choir Organization. I have had so many wonderful students, made so much great music,

traveled far and wide, and built lasting relationships, both with students and staff. As many of you know, I live in Oshkosh, and I direct 2 adult choirs as well as provide piano accompanying services through the Fox Valley.  I am also 64 years old, and I need to slow down a bit.  With this in mind, I am resigning my position with this wonderful organization after the May concert.  I have personally told my students as well as the staff members. I have been and am proud to serve this organization and am excited for its future. It is in good hands with our directors and accompanists, as well as Kent and Noah!  There are so many people to thank; students, staff, accompanists, parents, and all of the administrators and volunteers I have worked with.

The future of the Green Bay Boy and Girl Choirs of St. Norbert College will most likely be a bright one, but we need students to fill the seats!  Whatever you can do to recruit new students and give them a chance to make great music and develop important relationships is vital.  Being a part of a choir is one of the best ways for a student to grow and thrive in today's society. I definitely have had singers tell me that without choir, they wouldn’t know where they’d be. It is SO important.  Please consider what you can do to help!
